Google has altered its search page appearance for its inscription and tablet users. Many of the frequent users did not like it. In Google’s blogs and other forums, people are comparing it to ‘bing’ and saying it is slow and less productive. On the other hand, others are calling it a simplified layout and further saying that it has marginally increased the size of the page contents like buttons, text and other touch options .They are seeing it as modification made to browse and interact faster and easier with search results in both landscape and portrait view. Here are some of the changes made in the interface:
![]()
1. The hunt button
The hunt or search button, which is located below the search box gives quick access to pages, images, videos and more. You can just press the search menu button and choose an option to organize and categorize results. For images, enlarged previews are available with faster loading and continuous scrolling.
2. Pinch and Zoom
Another fall down of this layout is the disability to use pinch and zoom function. You can’t use this function for either text or pictures any longer. You can neither revert back to the older interface, nor are you allowed to use relatively bigger font size. Many frequent and honest users of Google are switching to Yahoo.
3. Adjustments for iPad users
For iPad users, the default web browser is safari which doesn’t allow again zooming of your results page. If they have to use this feature, they have to download and install other web browser like safari which enables them to use the zoom feature.
4. No 18+ content for 18+ users
Another big step back about these new modifications is that one can’t privately use splash and wizz option to be able to access adult content. Users are really dissatisfied with this option and are running for other options available in the market.
5. No optimum workaround
There is another bad news for iPad users. There is less than optimal workaround on the modified Google search pages for accessibility problems. There is one loop hole that still lets you go back to previous setting which hadn’t been yet fixed by Google. The mobile extension works well for iPad users as yet in the default web browser.
It is very crucial for Google that it sees these glitches and try to work out on these problems as soon as possible. Dissatisfaction of its users can lead them to be honest for other brands. Google as we know has a reputation in that area. Users are crossing their fingers that Google hunts down these shortcomings and make it the best application for its users again.
