We have already enjoyed Bing maps and Google maps in 3D version for a while now. Nokia not lagging behind launched 3D version of Ovi Maps for 20 different cities for the web users. Were you bore of using flat 2D maps with no feel? This would surely give you a realistic feel of the places you may want to explore. This can be called your virtual tour of the 20 cities!
To make maps look very realistic, Nokia has has partnered with C3, the leading provider of 3D mapping solutions, offering photo-realistic models of the world. C3 uses modern camera which can click picture of an object in one second at 100 different angle. This is the reason Ovi Maps 3D is so realistic.

To access 3D maps, user needs to visit maps.ovi.com and click on “3D” tap to activate 3D mode of map or can directly go for maps.ovi.com/3d. By agreeing to the license and allowing the access, Ovi Maps will automatically install a plugin for the browser a user is using. Plugins are available for IE 7+, Firefox 3.5+, Safari 5+ and Google Chrome.
Currently 3D maps are available in San Francisco, New York, Miami, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Toronto, London, Helsinki, Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, Milan, Venice, Florence, Barcelona, Madrid, Prague and Vienna. Nokia will soon be added some more popular cities of the world in coming days.
